Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek is equipped with adventure, speechless natural beauty, cultural experience, and spectacular views in the Annapurna region with visit to the lake situated at highest altitude in the world. Since it remains frozen most of the times, which is why, it is also called the 'Frozen Lake'. The lake reflects the shadow of the Tilicho Peak in its blue water. Throughout the trek, you shall cover your journey through sub-tropical to desert climate. Also, another attraction of this trek is the houses of Manang; you shall find one house on the top of another with one's rooftop serving as a verandah for the house above. Then comes the challenge and thrill of ascending one of the world's highest passes in the world—the Thorong La Pass.

This 20 days journey shall start after your arrival in Kathmandu. You shall drive to Syange, and then start trekking to Dharapani. Via Chame, and Pisang, you shall reach Manang. After an additional day there, via Siri Kharka, Tilicho Base Camp, you shall reach to the Tilicho Lake. Back to Siri Kharka, and then via Yak Kharka, you shall reach Thorong Phedi. On your way to Muktinath from Thorong Phedi, you shall cross the Thorong La Pass. Then you shall drive to Tatopani from where you shall start trekking towards Ghorepani. Witnessing the sunrise view from Poon Hill, you shall descend down to Naya Pul, and drive to Pokhara. The next day you shall fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative shall be waiting for your arrival at the airport and take you to your hotel. A walk around the streets is too exciting after you rest for a while. The street of Thamel, the colorful stalls and busy people, shall be sensational. We shall enjoy Nepalese dishes in a popular restaurant of the town. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2:Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
 
You shall find lots of see and visit in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, and Boudhhanath are some of the World Heritage Sites enlisted by UNESCO. In case you've missed packing something, purchase your trekking gear today. A brief meeting shall be held where we shall talk about our plans, arrangement, and preparation. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3:Drive to Syange
Altitude: 1,100m
 
It takes about 8-10 hours from Kathmandu to reach Syange. The long bumpy ride offers glimpses of scattered villages on the hills, countryside, the terraced fields, and the looming and disappearing mountains. It's quite a long journey in a vehicle, thus, after you reach Syange, you might not feel anything better than throwing yourself for a good rest. Stay overnight at Syange.

Day 4:Syange to Dharapani
Altitude: Dharapani: 1,960m
 
The trail comes at a bridge before Tal, crossing which you enter the Manang district. Through the beautiful fields of rice, barley, and potatoes, the trail passes waterfalls several times. Then come the Kodo Village, trek further from here for a while leads to Dharapani. In the entire Manang Valley, the Dharapani Village is one of the largest villages. Stay overnight at Dharapani.

Day 5:Dharapani to Chame
Altitude: Chame: 2,710m
 
The trail leading to Chame has suffered landslides a lot. Trekking over ridges, through forest, you shall start this journey. The views of Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Lamjung Himal are spectacular during this trek. There are some natural hot springs on this way. Soak your body here and feel the ease and comfort. Stay overnight at Chame.

Day 6:Chame to Pisang
Altitude: Pisang: 3,300m
 
Passing the old Chame, the trail ascends to Telekhu, and continues through a lush forest and easy route to Barthang. A winding brings you to the view of Paugda Danda—a huge rock 1500m above the river. Crossing the Marsyangdi River, through the forest of blue pines on a ridge, past Nyesyang comes today's destination—Pisang. Stay overnight at Pisang.

Day 7:Pisang to Manang
Altitude: Manang: 3,540m
 
The trail climbs uphill to Bryaga Village—which looks more like existing in Tibetan style, houses on top of each other, the rooftop of house down serving as a verandah for the house above. The trail passes through the countryside, with cliffs and pillars gaping towards the trail, as reach all the way to Manang. Manang is a beautiful place where you shall find several shops and stalls selling almost everything. Stay overnight at Manang.

Day 8:At Manang
Altitude: Manang: 3,540m
 
The whole day is yours to explore. It is quite important to stay active during your acclimatization days. Thus, you can visit the monastery of Manang. Also, you can hike all the way to Gangapurna Lake, and the nearby villages to get magnificent views of mountains and hilly landscape. Then there is the Himalayan Rescue Association Clinic you might not regret visiting to. Stay overnight at Manang.

Day 9:Manang to Siri Kharka
Altitude: Siri Kharka: 4,060m
 
The western gate of Manang bade farewell as you descend downhill to a river. Crossing the river, the trail presses further on through forests. On your way comes the Kangsar Village, passing a monastery, you shall ascend uphill witnessing the views of Mt. Chulu and Gungang Himal to Siri Kharka. It takes about 4-5 hours from Manang to reach Siri Kharka. Stay overnight at Siri Kharka.

Day 10:Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp
Altitude: Tilicho Base Camp: 4,140m
 
The trail is narrow and you have to make through part of the trail suffered from landslide. Walking in the midst of the landslide affected area, you shall get to see several formations of rock. Apart from such damaged area, the trail isn't strenuous at all. All it takes from Siri Kharka to reach the Tilicho Base Camp is 5 hours. Stay overnight at the Tilicho Base Camp.
 
Day 11:Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake and Siri Kharka
Altitude: Tilicho Lake: 4,949m
 
The beginning of today's trek can be quite challenging as you have to ascent over moraines and rocky dunes all the way to a watershed. The beautiful part of this journey is that you might spot deer and yak grazing. Across lies the beautiful lake under the Tilicho Peak—the Tilicho Lake. This lake is situated at the highest altitude in the world. The water is turquoise, and most of the times remain frozen. It is surely a place to spend some time at. After a while, you shall return back to Tilicho Base Camp and make towards Siri Khara.

Day 12:Siri Kharka to Yak Kharka
Altitude: Yak Kharka: 4,040m
 

The trail passes an ancient monastery—the Tare Gumba, and descend down towards Khangsar Village. Once you reach Khangsar, you shall realize that except during special occasions, the place remains largely uninhabited. Leaving Khangsar, advancing further takes you to a bridge of the Thorang Khola River. Across the river, after an uphill climb, walking for a while takes you to Yak Kharka. Stay overnight at Yak Kharka.

Day 13:Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Altitude: Thorong Phedi: 4,420m
 
Walking uphill for a while brings you to a suspension bridge, across which lies the village of Ledar. Further uphill, leaving the high cliffs, you shall reach Thorong Phedi. The Phedi is the last village before you cross the Thorong La Pass, and is situated at the lap of Thorong La Pass. The journey today offers you magnificent views of Mt. Syagang, Gundang, Khatungkan, and Thorung Peak. Stay overnight at Thorong Phedi.

Day 14:Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass
Altitude: Thorong La Pass: 5,416m; Muktinath: 3,800m
 
Thorong La Pass is one of the world's highest passes, thus, crossing it does require quite some stamina and strength. Since the easy and safe way to cross the pass is from the side of Manang to Mustang, which is why our early trek covered Manang, we shall ascend the pass early in the morning. The top offers the magnificent views of mountains, villages, and other landscapes. After spending a while, you shall descend downhill towards Muktinath. It takes about 7-8 hours to reach Muktinath from Phedi. Stay overnight at Muktinath.

Day 15:Drive: Muktinath to Tatopani
Altitude: Tatopani: 1,200m
 

It takes about 6-8 hours to reach Tatopani from Muktinath. Early in the morning, you shall visit the Muktinath temple before starting your today's journey. Muktinath holds religious importance to both Hindus and Buddhist. It is believed to be the land of 'Moskhsya' or liberation. Enjoy the drive. The trek is yet to complete. Stay overnight at Tatopani.

Day 16:Tatopani to Ghorepani
Altitude: Ghorepani: 2,850m
 
Past Kali Gandaki, the trail goes uphill to Ghar Khola Valley. Then, passing the terraced fields, and the Sikha Village, and Chitre Village, the trail arrives at a forest of rhododendron. Past this forest, after a walk for a while, you shall reach Ghorepani. It is an ancient hub where traders in their way used to let their horses drink water here and rest for a while. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 17:Ghorepani to Tadapani via Poon Hill
Altitude: Poon Hill: 3,210m; Tadapani: 2,700m
 
Early in the morning, you shall make uphill towards Poon Hill. It is one of the best places in Nepal to enjoy the sunrise view. The top offers spectacular views of over 20 mountains, and places like Pokhara and Mustang. After spending a while at the top, you shall descend down towards Tadapani. Passing the beautiful forests and waterfalls, you shall reach to Tadapani. Stay overnight at Tadapani.

Day 18:Tadapani to Naya Pul/ Drive to Pokhara
Altitude: Pokhara: 827m
 

The trail passes through dense forest of rhododendrons until Ghandruk. The stone houses erected on a slope facing spectacular mountain views mark arrival of Ghandruk. You shall then descend down to Naya Pul, from where you shall catch a vehicle to Pokhara. Our representative shall take you to your hotel. After you rest for a while, you can go for a short walking in this beautiful town. Stay overnight at Pokhara.

Day 19:Drive to Kathmandu
Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
 
Watching the mountains and hilly landscape down, you shall reach Kathmandu in 30 minutes from Pokhara. Our representative shall take you to your hotel. After you rest, you can walk around the street. You can also shop before your return to your country. We shall dine together in a popular restaurant of the town enjoying typical Nepalese dishes and sharing our trekking experience. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 20:Departure

After you are ready with your luggage, our representative shall take you to the airport in schedule and after saying goodbyes return back from there. Have a safe journey. Do remember us for your next trek in Nepal.
