Everest Cho La Pass Trek is one of the lifetime adventures equipped with cultural exploration and natural beauties. Trekking in the Everest region is one of the most sought and desired treks across the world. Since the successful summit of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa 1953, Mt. Everest and the Everest region has been one of the top priorities for climbing and trekking. Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, and Cho La Pass are the major attractions of this trek. This adventurous trekking in the Everest region begins after you fly to Lukla; in these 18 days, you shall pass through several villages inhabited by Sherpas, make through dense forest of juniper, pines, and rhododendrons, witness some of the high mountains, ascend and descend in rugged landscape, and reach at the base of world's highest mountain peak
Once you reach Lukla, you shall meet your guide and porter(s) and embark the journey via Phakding to reach Namche Bazar. From Namche Bazar, via Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep, you shall reach Everest Base Camp
in the 10th day. Next day, after viewing the best of the Everest from Kalapatthar, you shall descend down to Dzongla, and on your way to Thagnak you shall cross the Cho La Pass. Leaving Thagnak, Gokyo, Marchhermo, you shall return back to Namche Bazar. Next day, continuing your return journey, you shall leave Namche Bazar and descend down to Lukla. A flight from Lukla takes you to Kathmandu.

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal. Our representative shall receive you from the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel. Depending upon the time available, you can explore the city. We shall be enjoying the Arrival Dinner at a popular restaurant of the town. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 2:Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley
Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,400m
Kathmandu shall intoxicate you as you walk through the crowd and noisy streets of Asan and Indrachowk. The Pashupatinath Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Baudhhanath, Changu Narayan, etc. are some of the world heritage sites enlisted by UNESCO you might not want to miss visiting. Thamel is one of the best place for shopping trekking gears. We shall sit in a short Debrief Session regarding the trek in the late afternoon. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 3:Fly to Lukla; Trek from Lukla to Phakding
Altitude: Lukla: 2,610m
In the morning, you shall enjoy the 30 minute flight to Lukla. You shall meet your guide and porters here. Passing the Chaunrikharka Village (2680m), you shall descend and make through various other villages and farmlands. Leaving the Kusum Drargka Stream and crossing the Dudh Koshi River, you shall arrive at Phakding. Stay overnight at Phakding.
Day 4:Phakding to Namche Bazar
Altitude: Namche Bazar: 3,440m
After your breakfast, you shall make through the forests full with blue pines to reach the Benkar Village (2700m). A gentle climb brings you to the Chumoa Village. You shall descend down to cross the Monjo Khola before arriving at the Monjo Village (2800m). Crossing the Dudh Koshi River at Jorsale Village (2804m), you shall make through thin forest before the Bhote Koshi River. Then, an easy ascent shall bring you to Namche Bazar. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.
Day 5:At Namche Bazar
Today is the day to explore this mysterious and beautiful place, and let your body acclimatize with the high altitude. A short walk shall take you to the Sherpa museum. You can visit the Everest view hotel and explore the Kumjung Village (3800m). The village is one of the largest Sherpa settlements. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.
Day 6:Namche Bazar to Tengboche
Altitude: Tengboche: 3,867m
After descending down to the Dudh Koshi River, you shall ascent through the dense rhododendron forest, and cross the river to arrive at Phunki Thanga.From there, you shall ascend again through the rhododendron forest. An ascent after you cross a suspension bridge takes you to Tengboche. Tengboche boasts the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. Stay overnight at Tengboche.
Day 7:Tengboche to Dingboche
Altitude: Dingboche: 4,360m
Witnessing the Mani Walls and Chortens, passing through the forest full with birch, conifers and rhododendrons, you shall descend to the Debuche Village. You shall cross the Imja Khola via a suspension bridge and ascend to the Pangboche Village. After the Imja Valley, you shall cross the Lobuche River and ascent to find fields with stone walls—the Dingboche Village. Stay overnight at Dingboche.
Day 8:At Dingboche
The Nangkartshang Gompa lies at the norther side of Dingboche, which offers you the spectacular view of Mt. Makalu. A four hour hiking shall take you to Chhukung. If neither the Nangkartshang Gompa nor Chhukung seems to be something you feel like doing, you can explore the Dingboche Village for the whole day. Staying here shall acclimatize your body with the thinning oxygen content in the atmosphere.Stay overnight at Dingboche.
Day 9:Dingboche to Lobuche
Altitude: Lobuche: 4,940m
In this journey you shall walk across a pass, witnessing mountains surrounding you, you shall reach Dusa. After a descent and several twists, crossing a stream, you shall climb uphill to Duglha. After ascending to Chupki Lhara, you shall descend down to the moraine of Khumbu Glacier. You shall get beautiful views of mountains such as Khumbutse, Lingtren, Mahalangur Himal, Mt. Nuptse, and Pumori. Stay overnight at Lobuche.
Day 10:Lobuche to Gorakshep & Everest Base Camp
Altitude: Gorakshep: 5,170m; Everest Base Camp: 5,364m
Most of your ascent and descent will be on glacial trails. As you reach the base camp, you shall be arrested by the sheer beauty of mountains and ice fall. Mt. Nuptse, Khumbuste, Pumori, Lingtren, etc. are the mountains with best view. Cheers! You have made to the base of the world highest peak, the Mt. Everest. Take your cameras out and snap some of the most memorable pictures of your lifetime. After spending some time here, you shall descend down to Gorakshep. Stay overnight at Gorakshep.
Day 11:Gorakshep to Kalapatthar & Dzongla
Altitude: Kalapatthar: 5,545m; Dzongla: 4,830m
Early in the morning, you shall make through a steep trail to Kalapatthar to devour the breathtaking view of sunrise in the mountains. As you watch the mountains silver to gold due to the sunlight, a plea of charm shall grip you from within. Kalapatthar offers the panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Chagatse, Pumori, and other peaks. Then, you shall descend down to Gorakshep, and reach Lobuche in a couple of hours. In the next couple of hours, you shall be in Dzongla. Stay overnight at Dzongla.
Day 12:Dzongla to Thagnak via Cho La Pass
Altitude: Thagnak: 4,500m; Cho La Pass: 5,420m
This is the day your another dream comes true—ascending the Cho La Pass! You shall start your journey from the west of Dzongla descending down to basin. In an hour, you shall be at the basin's top and ascend further. The trail is steep, and at times you shall scramble over boulders. The top of Cho La Pass shall welcome you with prayer flags, and offers you the breathtaking views. Then, you shall descend down to the Thagnak Village. Stay overnight at Thagnak.
Day 13:Thagnak to Gokyo
Altitude: Gokyo: 4,750m
A short trek from Thagnak shall take you through the Ngozumpa Glacier. The other side of the glacier provides you the views of the second Gokyo Lake and the third Gokyo Lake a little distance away. The Gokyo Village is located at its edge. In the first lake you shall get to see the Lama's footprints. Beyond the fifth lake lies the Cho Oyu base camp. Stay overnight at Gokyo.
Day 14:Gokyo to Marchhermo via Gokyo Ri
Altitude: Gokyo Ri: 5483m; Marchhermo: 4,410m
Gokyo Ri is another important attraction of this trek. You shall embark the journey early in the morning ascending steep uphill to the Gokyo Ri. The top offers magnificent views of Ngozumpa Glacier and Gokyo Valley, and panoramic views of Khumbu Mountain Range like Mt. Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Gychung Kang, Cho-Oyu, and Mt. Everest. After spending a while at Gokyo Ri, you shall descend down to Marchhermo. Stay overnight at Marchhermo.
Day 15:Marchhermo to Namche Bazar
Altitude: Namche Bazar: 3,440m
This is another nostalgic return trek through the familiar trail down to Namche Bazar. Marchhermo to Namche Bazar takes about 5 hours to trek through the forest full with juniper, pine and rhododendron trees. Enjoying the views of distant Mt. Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse, you shall arrive at Namche Bazar. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.
Day 16:Namche Bazar to Lukla
Altitude: Lukla: 2,860m
Today, you shall mostly walk on rocky terrain. You shall be descending down overlooking the Dudh Koshi River. Crossing various suspension bridges, making through several villages you shall reach Lukla. This is the last day with your guide and porter; you might fancy to celebrate special dinner for successful completion of the trek. Stay overnight at Lukla.
Day 17:Fly to Kathmandu
Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,400m
This is the day you shall return to Kathmandu via a 30 minute flight. Our representative shall take you to your hotel, where you might fancy a long rest. After that, you might love to go for shopping before your return. You might also stroll around the city to visit some of the attractions of the valley. We shall be sitting together to celebrate the Farewell Dinner enjoying local delicacies. Stay overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.
When you are ready with your luggage, our representative shall take you from your hotel to the Tribhuvan International Airport. Then, they shall bade you farewell and return. Have a safe journey.
