Overview

Mardi Himal Trek is noted for being the lowest altitude peak  approved by the Nepal Government for climbing. Mardi Himal exists at the close proximity of Annapurna Range and it demarks the southwest ridge of Fishtail Mountain. Southwestern face of Mardi Himal comprises three ridges and all of them are distinguished by hanging glaciers. Mardi Himal can be easily accessed from the lake city of Pokhara by covering 15 miles of distance.


Mardi Himal Trekking follows an alternative trekking route for Annapurna Circuit Trek. Despite being at the lowest altitude, Mardi Himal is also the least climbed peak in Nepal. Once arrived at the foothill of Mardi peak, we will follow the Mardi Himal trekking route that stretches up through the eastern face of Mardi peak. We can enjoy the sights of valleys and forested ridges in the south of Mardi peak.

 

Despite being a difficult, the ascent will lead you to the summit of Mardi Peak from. It is from here that we will enjoy the panoramic views of magnificent Annapurna ranges and Machhapuchhre peak. Mardi Himal is an easy trek. You absolutely need zero climbing experience to aim for it. To add to it, Mardi Himal treks remains open throughout the year.


Ace Holiday Treks currently offers 12 days Mardi Himal treks. We will take 5hours of the drive to Pokhara and reach Phedi from where the trek begins. Then we make an ascent towards  the ridge to Dhampus village and pass through the forest to Pothana from where the trail stretches through forest and meadow to Mardi Himal base camp.


Afterwards , we will return back from the base camp  through Siding village to Hyanja village. Then, we will return back to Kathmandu through Pokhara.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by Ace Holiday Treks representative and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you can either rest from your journey or take a stroll through the lively streets of Kathmandu, immersing yourself in the cultural ambiance of the capital city.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical wonders of Kathmandu. After breakfast, embark on a guided sightseeing tour to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, you'll have time for trek preparation and to ensure you are ready for the upcoming Mardi Himal Trek.

Day 3 : Drive to Pokhara 860 m - 6-hour drive

You have the option to either take a scenic drive or a short flight to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region. The drive offers picturesque views of the Nepalese countryside, and upon reaching Pokhara, you can relax by the serene Phewa Lake or explore the lakeside city.

Day 4 : Drive to Kande 1,530 m and trek to Potana 1,900 m via Australian Camp / Thulo Kharka 2,050 m - 04 hours with drive and walks.

The trek begins with a drive to Kande, where you start walking through the lush landscapes to reach Australian Camp and Thulo Kharka. The trek takes you through rhododendron forests and charming villages, providing stunning views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare mountain ranges. You then descend to Potana at 1,900 meters for an overnight stay.

Day 5 : Trek to Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,100 m - 06 hrs.

As you continue the Mardi Himal Trek, the trail leads you to Forest Camp via Deurali. The trek takes you through dense forests and offers glimpses of the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli peaks. The serene atmosphere of Forest Camp at 2,520 meters provides a tranquil setting for the night.

Day 6 : Trek to Badal / Low Camp 2,970 m - 05 hrs.

The trek continues to Badal or Low Camp, offering panoramic views of Machapuchare and the Mardi Himal. The trail takes you through alpine landscapes, and as you ascend, the views become more spectacular. Low Camp, situated at 2,970 meters, is your resting place for the night.

Day 7 : Trek to High Camp 3,900 m - 05 hrs.

Today's trek takes you to High Camp at an elevation of 3,900 meters. The trail provides breathtaking views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchare, and the Annapurna range. The higher altitude adds a sense of adventure, and High Camp offers a comfortable setting for your overnight stay.

Day 8 : From High Camp hike to Mardi Himal View Point 4,500 m and return to Low Camp - 06 hrs.

An exciting day awaits as you embark on a hike to the Mardi Himal View Point at 4,500 meters. The trek offers unparalleled views of the surrounding peaks and the pristine landscapes below. After relishing the views, you return to Low Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9 : Trek to Siding village 1,750 m - 05 hrs.

Descending from High Camp, the trail leads to Siding village at 1,750 meters. The trek takes you through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Siding village offers a glimpse into the local way of life, and you'll spend the night in this tranquil setting.

Day 10 : Drive to Pokhara 860 m - 02 hrs.

Today, you drive back to Pokhara, enjoying the scenic landscapes on your way. Upon reaching Pokhara, you have the rest of the day to relax by the lakeside or explore the vibrant city. It's a perfect opportunity to reflect on the experiences of the Mardi Himal Trek.

Day 11 : Fly or drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

You can choose to either fly or drive back to Kathmandu. The flight offers stunning aerial views of the Himalayas, while the drive allows you to enjoy the landscapes one last time. After arriving in Kathmandu, you'll be transferred to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 12 : Departure

On the final day of your Mardi Himal Trek adventure, Ace holiday Treks representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure. With memories of the breathtaking views, cultural encounters, and the trek's unique experiences, you bid farewell to Nepal, carrying with you the stories of a remarkable journey.
