Agrotourism

Better involve in cultivation and perfection of human beings than plowing with pencils

Generally, travel and tourism refer to some recreational visits to interesting, strange and beautiful places. Then, is it so in agriculture? Does the term agro-tourism really have a complete sense? Yes, it makes sense for many of those special visitors who care about agriculture. Nepal is popular for traditional agriculture and more than 65 percent of population are supposed to depend on traditional agriculture for their livelihood. In cities and modern working culture, alienation from the traditional life styles makes us monotonous and nostalgic, and some refreshing activities are highly desired. If you love agriculture, you love to visit a farm / ranch, you love to see the cultivation and animals, work / volunteer for local farms, buy fresh and organic products, etc. More than that, visitors may enjoy farm stay, research and observe traditional animal farming, feed animals yourself, pick seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, know about traditional / modern agricultural societies, their civilization and traditional livelihood, rural economies and activities, etc. In addition, some agriculture loving people may love to organize or attend agricultural festivals or shows, share their productive ideas. While we have met many students, professors and professional farmers from many countries who want to go to Nepal’s rural villages and share their productive ideas with the local farmers; we also have met many people who have never seen animal farming and other agricultural farming because of their urban life. For them, visiting farm houses and farmlands and learning about production process is an wonderful opportunity. During these kinds of trips, tourism also helps promote sustainable tourism instead of natural exploitation.

We, Ace Holiday Treks, manage the space and create opportunities for our agricultural visitors in different rural settings and farms (cornfields, rice fields), traditional and organic farms, food and beverage factories like cheese factory, fruits farms, fisheries, pasture lands in the hills and Himalaya, etc. Usually, agro-tourism trips are combined with some short treks and cultural or village tours.
