Dhaulagiri Region Trek

Experience the extreme contrast on the Himalayan landscape…..

Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain peak in the world, provides a tremendous opportunity not only for the climbers but also for the trekkers who want to have an extremely adventurous trekking experience around the massive snow peak standing stiff on the west of Annapurna range and North West of Pokhara valley. From the deepest Kali Gandaki River gorge, within the aerial distance of 30 kilometer, Dhaulagiri Mountain raises upto 7000 meters in front of Annapurna on the other side of Kali Gandaki. Its stiff rise and the towering view from the Kali Gandaki gorge impel the travelers to be amused and confused as if they are in front of the world’s highest peak. Dhaulagiri circuit and Dhaulagiri Base Camp Treks, two most famous trips in the region, both are very challenging and include two high passes of over 5000 meters. The stunning hidden valley across the passes lets the adventure trekkers stand together with the snow-capped tower in front of them from the base camp.

Meaning ‘white mountain’ by its name ‘Dhaulagiri’, this region houses more than 15 peaks above 7000 meters. Because of the high altitude and difficult geography, some mountaineering experience is very helpful to trek in this region. Not only unique and difficult, this trek is taken as one of the most rewarding ones among experienced adventure trekkers from all over the world.

As not so many trekkers have conquered this trail, Dhaulagiri Circuit Trekking and Dhaulagiri Base Camp trekking are still taken as virgin trails trekking. Camping is the only option in most part of this trail around the mountain area.
