The landscape is dry, dusty and wide open most of the time, and on some days the wind made walking more tiring than the altitude itself. Lo Manthang was the most interesting part of the trip. The old walled city feels quiet and very different from other places in Nepal. We spent extra time just walking around and taking it all in. Tea houses were simple and sometimes a bit cold at night, and food choices were quite repetitive, but that is expected in such a remote region.
